Llanelli AFC has confirmed the departures of Danny Williams and Joe Hopkins. The Reds will begin life back in the Cymru South without two of their key players.

What happened?

Llanelli Town announced Hopkins’ departure in a statement, paying tribute to the midfielder’s contribution during his time with the Reds. Hopkins made more than 125 appearances for Llanelli Town and was a key figure both on and off the pitch.

Why it matters for Llanelli AFC

The departures leave Llanelli facing a significant rebuilding job as they look to mount a promotion challenge in the Cymru South next season. Williams established himself as one of Llanelli’s standout performers over the past two seasons, scoring 11 goals during the club’s Cymru South title-winning campaign.

What comes next?

Pontypridd United have bolstered their attacking options ahead of the new Cymru South campaign with the signing of experienced forward Kofi Rowe. Rowe joins the club following a productive spell with Llantwit Major, where he established himself as one of the side’s most influential attacking players.
