Llanelli AFC were beaten 3-0 by Caerau (Ely) in the FAW Championship South on Friday evening. The result extends a difficult start to the season for The Reds, who remain 15th in the table with only two points from their opening seven fixtures.

T. Parker opened the scoring for the hosts in the tenth minute, giving Caerau (Ely) an early lead they would not relinquish. Llanelli struggled to create clear chances in response, and the game was put beyond them with two late goals. D. Griffiths doubled the advantage in the 82nd minute before J. Bahumaid added a third just three minutes later. Griffiths received a red card in the sixth minute of added time, but it came too late to affect the outcome.

The defeat is Llanelli's third consecutive loss and their fourth in the last five matches. Their recent form reads zero wins, one draw and four defeats, with the team having conceded 20 goals while scoring only six so far this campaign. That leaves them with a goal difference of minus fourteen, a clear area for improvement.

You can review the team's upcoming schedule on our fixtures page, which shows a trip to face bottom-side Llantwit Major on 26 September. The current standings confirm Llanelli are eleven points adrift of league leaders Swansea University. The search for a first win of the season continues.
