History
Cambrian United, formerly Cambrian & Clydach Vale, were founded in 1965 and joined the Welsh Football League in 2005. Mergers in 1980 and 2002 strengthened the club, leading to promotion to the First Division by 2007-08. A 2018-19 Welsh League Cup final appearance against Cardiff Metropolitan marked their peak before rebranding as Cambrian United in 2024-25. Their promotion to the Cymru Premier made them the first Rhondda Valley club in 20 years to reach Welsh football’s top flight.
Form
Cambrian United began their Cymru Premier campaign with a 2-1 loss to Barry Town United, followed by a 1-1 draw against Briton Ferry Llansawel and a 1-0 victory over Flint Town United. These results left them 10th in the table after three games. Liam Eason’s late penalty secured the win, highlighting their growing confidence in the top tier.
